Jonathan K. Twitchell joined the Nazarene Foundation in the fall of 2015. Jon was born and raised in Maine and attended Eastern Nazarene College, graduating in 1998 with a degree in youth ministry.
Jon served both the Brunswick (Maine) and Cape Elizabeth (Maine) churches as youth pastor before accepting a call to pastor the Cape Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene, where he served from 2001-2015.
During his pastoral ministry, Jon has been engaged in a broad use of technology, utilizing radio, television, internet, podcasting, and live-streaming to share the gospel message.
As a bi-vocational pastor for the last 8 years, Jon served as a funeral home chaplain, representing the Good Shepherd to families during their grief. Drawing from these experiences, Jon authored Presence: A Pastor's Guide to Funerals in 2014. He has also written for Stewardship Ministries, Holiness Today, and Grace & Peace Magazine.
Jon has served as district NYI president and district Board of Ministry secretary, in addition to participating on the district finance committee. His wife Melody (Westin), also a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College, recently completed a four-year term on the ENC Board of Trustees. She is an accomplished pianist and has taught private music lessons to students of all ages.
"I look forward to serving the Foundation, helping individuals build plans to support the church at all levels. In these complicated days it is vital that we build a sustainable future as we participate in the mission of God. The Foundation plays a key role in supporting local, district, regional, and global ministry."
Jon and Melody have been married since 1997, and they live in Southern California with their cat, Mia. They enjoy baseball, traveling, and serving together.
