Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and organized Office Clerk to join our team at the Church of the Nazarene Foundation in Lenexa, Kansas. As an Office Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations within our office by providing accurate data entry and support services. This part-time position offers an opportunity to work in a Christian environment.
Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Both financial information and personal identifiable information will be part of data entry responsibilities.
- Answering Phones: Professionally and courteously handle incoming calls, providing information, taking messages, and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Mail Processing: Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages, ensuring accurate delivery to the intended recipients. Prepare outgoing mail, including packages and documents, for proper postage and shipping.
- Administrative Support: Assist management and office staff by performing various administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, organizing files, maintaining databases, and preparing documents and reports.
- Maintain Professional Appearance: Ensure the reception area and common spaces are tidy and presentable, maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff.
- Document Management: Scan and file documents, ensuring accurate organization and easy retrieval of information. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive documents with discretion.
- Communication and Correspondence: Compose and proofread correspondence, emails, memos, and other written materials as requested. Maintain effective communication within the office and with external parties.
- Supportive Role: Collaborate with other team members to provide general support to various departments or projects as needed. This may include assisting with event planning, data entry, or other tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), DocuSign, and Adobe. Ability to learn Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge Systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
- Previous experience in an office support role is preferred.
- Proficient in using office equipment such as printers, scanners, and photcopiers.
- Ability to work with numbers on a basic level, accurately utilizing tools like a calculator or excel formulas.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work in a Christian environment and align with the mission and values of the Church of the Nazarene Foundation.
